I read the top stories and they are against Obama and it disgusts me. This is poor and unprofessional work on behalf of some people on this site installing clear bias. MyDD has lost a lot of respect for me. This site makes Fox News look like PBS. Its real sad and I do not trust this site, along with hinessight, as credible places anymore. MyDD has let more people down.
Im not making a long diary because this site has become a joke. I just want to make sure people are aware of this.

As a white male I recognize the importance it is to have an identity as a human being. Malcolm X is a man I highly admire, and he discussed how black people were forced over here from Africa. He acknowledged that black people in America were Africans trapped in America who were never given rights as a human being. In this video he questions who are you? He says that black peoples last names are not Jones or Smith because that was their slavemaster's last name. He brings to light the struggles that black people had to endure to the point that they do not know where they came from. I believe that the more we understand each other then the more open society can be about things that people are uncomfortable to discuss. People become uncomfortable to talk about race, politics, or any personal matters with people they do not know well. If we can understand different cultures, environments, and the mind of each person then I believe we can realize our identity as human beings.
Many white people do not even know the name Malcolm X. This is just one of many barriers that separates people. Many white people do not seek to understand a non-white culture; they feel too comfortable with their own people. Sadly, my recognition towards the struggles and knowledge of the black community is higher than most white people. This is why I advocate for affirmative action because we need a balanced field in the workplace and in society. People do not know enough about each other and we must be more diverse. The reason affirmative action must be implemented is to help fight racism and not leave people behind. We do not have an equal society and until we reach that point then we need to have things such as affirmative action.
I want to raise the bar for white people to acknowledge the non-white communities. Being around people you hang with everyday will not expand the dimension of your mind to understand people. It is important for the U.S. to not be colorblind because it means that they are blind towards people of color. Small towns and cities are on the opposite sides of life that creates a miscommunication amongst each other. When you are around more people then you get a larger impression about society in which you live. I ask to understand people from all walks of life where you understand the thought in rural and city America. We must identify each other as human beings in a society that will work for all of us regardless where we come from and to help heal any negativity which may exist between one another.
The Republicans want Hillary to be the candidate. You nominated Kerry who was not strong enough against Bush and look what happened. The Republicans are ready to attack her and are prepared to energize their base just to let her lose regardless of the Republican nominee. I hear Democrats speak of her when she is going to get hammered to the point that the south hands the presidency to the Republicans. And I do not see the practice of politics changing with her. And if she does win the general election then four years later she will sure lose with the Republicans even more energized. I do not want to see the Democrats act foolishly again into the Republicans playbook and think she will bring lots of change. Can't the Democratic Party be different then to just put up an obvious candidate? If Bill was never president she would not have a chance. Democrats always speak of change when they would put the same type of politicians we have had in office for the last 20 or so years with Hillary elected.
And lastly, the reason Hillary is perceived as the frontrunner is because the media says so and a reason why Obama is a front tier candidate as well. The media chooses the candidates, and it never is the American people. It is a 2 party system that has become the top two parties because of the media, but not just that alone. People did not choose Democrats and Republicans to always be in charge, the media gave us two choices just like they are doing with the top tier candidates in these elections.
Last night at the AFL-CIO Debate Mrs. Hillary Clinton stated, "You can think big, but remember, you shouldn't always say everything you think if you're running for president, because they could have consequences,"
This drew boos from the crowd, but if you are running for president people want to hear everything you want to say or think. You don't just choose to say some things and keep things quiet from the public. This has been a pattern in all of U.S. history to not speak on certain things. Her statement indicates a fear of consequences. Sen. Barack Obama expressed on the Youtube Debate that he would meet with leaders pre-conditionally of other nations and that it has been practice as a punishment to other nations to not speak with them. His statement displays a lack of fear towards mistakes and consequences pertaining to that issue. Sen. Clinton implies that she fears committing a mistake, which if you focus too much on that it will lead to more mistakes. We need a president who will not fear, threaten, and must have confidence to lead this nation. Candidates dodge some questions and the statement Hillary said last night indicates to the public that she will continue to dodge more important questions because she believes in not saying everything that is on her mind.
The notion of not saying everything, and to not meet with other leaders for propaganda purposes further demonstrates the fear and arrogance of America. Having a president who shares these values will not change politics in Washington.
It is time to defeat some democrats who are not doing their job enough. I would like to see Mary Landrieu of Louisiana to lose. We need a democratic opponent against her. She has voted to fund the war and recently the FISA bill. According to congresspedia.org, here is what she said after Katrina struck:
In an interview with Chris Wallace, Landrieu called the evacuation of New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina "the best evacuation."
Shortly after the aftermath of the hurricane, Landrieu was involved in a testy exchange with Anderson Cooper of CNN in which she praised President Bush and the Senate for responding to Katrina and appropriating money for the effort. To which Cooper responded: "Excuse me, Senator, I'm sorry for interrupting. I haven't heard that, because, for the last four days, I've been seeing dead bodies in the streets here in Mississippi. And to listen to politicians thanking each other and complimenting each other, you know, I got to tell you, there are a lot of people here who are very upset, and very angry, and very frustrated." After this exchange, Landrieu began to criticize President Bush very harshly for his response to Katrina in subsequent interviews.
Landrieu is also one of the more conservative members of the Democrats in the Senate. We cannot tolerate conservative democrats in Congress. We tried to get Lieberman out and succeeded in his loss in the democratic primary.
I would also like to see a third party candidate or possible democrat go up against Dick Durbin in my state of Illinois. He will win easily in 2008 and we need someone to hold him accountable. He is another senator who has funded the war in Iraq and does not show enough strength in leadership as majority whip in the senate. He has lots of power and he must utilize it better. The best way to do this is to get him to earn his victory in 2008.
We need to defeat all republicans and all conservative democrats to truly have a progressive agenda in Congress to represent the people of the United States of America. Landrieu must go and Durbin must be challenged. Spread the word around to other blogs.
IL-16 congressional district representative Don Manzullo has occupied the seat since 1993 and was re-elected to his seat for his 8th term in 2006. He promised to not last this long in Congress when he first entered in '93 and now he has broken that promise. The 16th district in Illinois has been a republican area for years and we need a serious opponent against Representative Manzullo. He accepts money from large corporations, oil companies, and he does not do anything for the district. He lives off of the false belief that he represents small businesses and the job sector in the 16th district. Here are some of his top contributors that I found at Congresspedia.org.

Here is what ontheissues.org has about him:
http://ontheissues.o...
He is a threat to issues such as health care, does not believe in affirmative action, voted for making the Bush tax cuts permanent, opposes withdrawing troops from Iraq, and is a very republican. He also stated that the minimum wage increase this year (which I think is pretty weak)was a socialistic tactic when I went to his yearly conference he has for high school kids.
This district votes republicans in everywhere and we need a grassroots effort to beat him the next election. The Democrats do not officially have a candidate opposing him although Robert Abboud of Barrington Hills in Illinois is possibly going to run against him. He has a better chance than any other candidate who has run against Manzullo in the past and the main reason is that he has money. Democrats have lost due to a lack of money and must succeed this next election cycle.
I ask all bloggers on mydd.org and any other blog that they attend to spread the word about unseating IL-16th district Don Manzullo to turn the district blue again.
